Why am i looked down upon for respecting men?

There is nothing wrong with respecting a man for being a man. I feel the same way and women always say things like I set women back 200 years and stuff. The fact is that mostly all of the world's cultures have had this way fo life so it is far more than a coincidence or fluke that they did.
