My boss is trying to take money from me!!!! HELP!?

i was in a work related accident 1 year and two months ago, may 2010, i received workman's comp for the three months they would not let me return to work at the end of which i received my settlement. well, this morning my boss/ owner of the company pulls me into his office and tells me if i want to keep my job i have to pay the supposed $1800 dollar repair bill for the damages in the accident.... i have been told by several sources this is not a legal move on his part, and i should contact the department of labor. i have contacted them and have an appointment. what are your thoughts? thank you very much!
