Proper attire for applying for employment at a shoe store (footlocker, champs, footaction)?

I plan to apply at these three shoe retailers, and I understand that dress shirt shoes and slacks is the proper attire for searching for employment, but these are casual urban places, so would it be a good idea to wear this for applying at these places too?
