Is it strange that my wife wears neckties?

My wife works in a tax office and professional attire is required. Traditionally she has chose to wear menswear inspired suits, usually pinstripe suits with trousers, although sometimes with skirts. About two or three years ago she started to wear neckties with a dress shirt, with the suits quite often. She wears the tie just as a man would, tie tied tight, and top button done up. She has always worn her hair quite short, but this summer it is shorter than ever, clippered up the back, and her ears totally exposed. I worry that she may be conveying too masculine of an image. I took her out to dinner after work this past Friday, and I noticed people staring at her, and wispering God knows what. The thing is, she looks great, even sexy. This look really suits her. Is she out in left field fashion wise, or is she cutting edge?
